Electric and Gas Furnaces / Fireplaces / Boilers
When building a new home or replacing your existing heating system, Frosty’s Heating and Cooling will provide the right solution for your home. By using the highest quality materials and state of the art techniques, we are able to provide customers with solutions that maintain their homes’ operating efficiencies while saving on annual heating costs for years to come.
Frosty’s offers you a wide variety of product line options and can assist you in determining the right size of gas or electric furnace. There is no benefit to a furnace with a heating capacity too large for your home. A properly sized furnace runs almost continuously during the coldest day of the winter, resulting in efficient operation during the whole heating season. An oversized furnace will run only for a short period, never reaching peak efficiency.
Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) Rating calculates how quickly a furnace converts its fuel to energy. There is a wide range of furnace efficiencies ranging from 86 to 96 AFUE--the higher the AFUE rating, the more you’ll save on energy costs!
In Manitoba, the Office of the Fire Commissioner announced in 2010 changes to the Manitoba building code. These new efficiencies will be incorporated into new construction and homes undergoing extensive renovations. Building code changes as of April 1, 2011 pertaining to the HVAC industry apply to all furnaces requiring a minimum of 94% fuel-efficiency rating.
